Chattanooga, Tenn. – The first Krystal drive-in restaurant in the state of Texas is set to open this month, and to give San Antonians a taste of what to expect from the one-of-a-kind restaurant and an entire new line-up of menu offerings now available in San Antonio, Krystal is giving away its entire menu for free in advance of the opening.

Krystal lovers stopping by the new, soon-to-open, Krystal drive-in restaurant, located at 7953 Pat Booker Rd, on Saturday, July 19 will be greeted by Krystal Carhops who will be handing out $5,000 worth of Krystal gift cards for free menu items. The event will begin at noon and will run until supplies last.

“We’re thrilled to be opening the first Krystal drive-in restaurant in the state of Texas as well as introducing a new expanded line-up of great-tasting products at both of our San Antonio locations that you can’t get anywhere else in Texas,” said Brad Wahl, vice president of marketing, The Krystal Company. “To celebrate, we are making our drive-in opening special by giving away our entire menu for free, allowing our San Antonio guests to experience all of our new menu options beyond the Krystal hamburger they’ve already come to love.”

Gift cards will be distributed for the restaurant’s brand new line of expanded menu options, giving San Antonians the chance to taste the new Krystal items before anyone else in the state, including: Hot ‘N Country Wings®, chicken wings covered in a crispy, spicy breading; Krystal Smoothies®, a line up of all-natural, all-fruit smoothie beverages; Mac ‘N Cheese Wedges®, small wedges of fried mac ‘n cheese bites; RockSlides®, a line of ice cream-based beverages that include mix-ins such as M&Ms, Butterfinger and Snickers; and Krystal Toasted Sandwiches®, a variety of Krystal-sized sandwiches served on toasted bread including Philly Cheesesteak, Turkey Club, Grilled Cheese, BLT and Grilled Bacon and Cheese.

Gift cards for Krystal’s popular breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack menu favorites will also be distributed including: Krystal Sunrisers®, a breakfast sandwich made with Jimmy Dean® sausage, scrambled eggs and cheese all served on the famous Krystal bun; Krystal’s BreakFEAST®, a full-plate breakfast that includes three eggs, bacon or sausage, grits or hash browns and a biscuit or toast; Krystal Pups®, small hotdogs served with or without chili; Krystal Chiks®, the company’s famous small, square chicken sandwich served with mayonnaise and a pickle; and MilkQuakes®, the restaurant’s premium milkshakes made with real ice cream and available in chocolate, strawberry and vanilla as well as Banana Pudding and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup for a limited time.

In addition to the gift cards for free menu items, some San Antonians will receive Krystal cards in $10, $25 and $50 denominations, allowing them to spend the Krystal cash on any of their favorite menu items at either Krystal location.

The new Krystal drive-in restaurant, located 7953 Pat Booker Rd., pays homage to the Krystal drive-ins of the 1950s while injecting a fresh, modern edge into the American classic. The restaurant features a total of 16 drive-in spots complete with traditional carhop service, in-your-vehicle Wi-Fi Internet access and a jumbo, three-panel menu and digital media board positioned directly in front of each parking space.

Both the new drive-in location and existing restaurant on NW Loop 410 will showcase Krystal’s expanded line-up of new product offerings, making San Antonio the first city outside of Krystal’s hometown of Chattanooga to offer the new menu. Guests will not only be able to order the signature “big taste” products that have made Krystal a cultural icon in the South over the past 75 years, but also fresh, new choices such as real fruit smoothies, premium ice cream sundaes and a variety of Krystal-sized toasted sandwiches for breakfast, lunch, dinner and late night.
